Police Arrest Fugitive Mairon Tabuni, KKB Member Involved In Shooting Residents In Ilaga

The National Police through the Cartenz Peace Operations Task Force arrested Mairon Tabuni alias Solikin who is a member of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB).

Mairon Tabuni alias Solikin is a fugitive or DPO related to cases of assault and shooting of civilians.

"We have secured the Puncak KKB DPO on behalf of Mairon Tabuni alias Solikin. The person concerned is involved in a criminal attack and shooting of civilians in Ilaga, Puncak Regency," said Head of Operations for the Cartenz Peace Task Force, Brigadier General Faizal Ramadhani in his statement, Tuesday, October 22.

Mairon Tabuni alias Solikin was arrested at Aminggaru Ilaga Airport, Puncak Regency, Monday, October 21, 2024, at 09.05 WIT.

In addition, the Head of the Public Relations Task Force for the Damai Cartenz Ops, Kombes Bayu Suseno, Mairon Tabuni are members of the Head of Water KKB led by Papuanus alias Jeki Murib in Puncak Regency.

Currently, Mairon Tabuni has been taken to the Cartenz-2024 Peace Operations Command Post in Mimika for further investigation.

"The Cartenz-2024 Peace Operations Task Force continues to work hard to enforce the law against KKB in Papua for the sake of creating a safe and peaceful Papua," said Bayu.

It is known that Damai Cartenz Ops also arrested the leader of KKB Paniai, Jemmy Magai Yogi who served as Army Chief of Staff of the West Papua Army (WPA) Division II Pemka IV Paniai on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at around 16.16 WIT in front of the Dogyai Regency DPRD Office.

Currently, KKB Jemmy Magai is at the Papua Regional Police to undergo intensive examination by investigators from the Cartenz Damai Ops Task Force and the Papua Regional Police and a legal process will be applied to the person concerned.
