Commemorating Santri Day, Ridwan Kamil Encourages Islamic Boarding Schools To Become Productive Institutions For Jakarta

JAKARTA - Candidate for governor number 01, Ridwan Kamil also commemorates Santri Day which falls today by visiting the Nahdlatul Ulama community at the Manhalun Islamic University Nasyiin, Central Jakarta.

RK encourages Islamic boarding schools to become productive institutions for the development of Jakarta.

"Happy Santri Day, which is indeed an honor and we, especially myself, have also come from the pesantren family, taking care of nine Islamic boarding schools today. Even our family members, our father, our grandfather's first child died fighting against the Dutch, yes. His body was not found. Hopefully, the fighting spirit will continue to Indonesia, gold is the point," said Ridwan Kamil starting his statement regarding Santri Day in Jakarta, Tuesday, October 22.

Towards Indonesia Gold 2045, RK hopes that the students in Indonesia will become superior human resources. Therefore, he supports President Prabowo Subianto's flagship program to provide free nutritious food for children.

"The nutrition must be good, so there is a free food program, we must also succeed in nutritious food. So that one day there are students who become Kiai, some become teachers, some become doctors, become ministers, maybe become president and so on. We pray that they become a superior generation in 2024. I think the message is mainly on National Santri Day 2024," said the former Governor of West Java.

RK, who is also familiarly called Kang Emil, is committed to encouraging Islamic boarding schools in Jakarta to become productive institutions that can bring development to the regions.

"I have experience in managing pesantren, there are economic programs, there are infrastructure programs, there are community programs, there are various kinds. God willing, it will not be much different, because we have done and succeeded, thank God," said Emil.

"God willing, we will also honor Islamic boarding schools in Jakarta, we encourage them to become very productive, very good and relevant institutions for the development of Jakarta," he concluded.
