Follow Scout Activities, Students In Polewali Madar Die Drowning
POLEWALI MADAR - As many as three students drowned in the Kunyi river, Kunyi Village, Anreapi District, Polewali Mandar Regency (Polman), West Sulawesi (Sulbar) while participating in scout activities and from three of them were found dead.
One person died named Nauval (15 years), while two other students survived named Irlan (17) and Nima. Currently both are still undergoing treatment at the Anreapi Health Center.
Polewali Police Chief AKP Frans Geradus confirmed the incident on Monday, October 21 afternoon. According to him, the incident resulted in one person dying and two other students being treated at the puskesmas.
"There were three students drowning, Nouval, Irlan and Nima, one person died on behalf of Nouval the body was already in the hospital, two congratulations Irlan and Nima are still at the Anreapi Health Center undergoing treatment, but the condition has improved," said Frans. Tuesday 22 October.
According to him, there were 114 students from the Pare-Pare Integrated Islamic School, South Sulawesi, who took part in scouting activities. "Among these three students, it turned out that one person could not swim, he who wanted to save his friend was the one who drowned on behalf of Nouval," he said.
Currently, the police are still investigating the cause of this incident, including the element of negligence that caused one student to die.
"We take all the information from the teacher and the person in charge, including whether there is permission from the parents in this activity," he explained.
The unfortunate incident occurred when a number of students of Pare-Pare Integrated Islamic Middle School swam after participating in Scout activities which were held at the Alla-Alla tourist location, Kunyi Village, which was held by the school.

However, while swimming, one of the students named Nima drowned and asked for help. Hearing the screams, Irlan and Nauval then tried to help their colleague, but unfortunately Noval, who was said to be unable to swim, drowned along.
Tourism managers along with other residents who knew about the incident tried to save the three students who drowned, but unfortunately one student could not be helped. Noval was found by residents at the bottom of the river with a depth of 3 meters after a search was carried out for several minutes.
