BYD Yangwang U9 Proves Himself In N\"urburgring

JAKARTA - For more than six months, the BYD electric supercar, U9, has undergone extensive testing in N\"urburgring, Germany. The results of this trial will determine U9's position as one of the fastest electric supercars in the world.

N\"urburgring Nordschleife itself is very popular with automotive manufacturers to test their vehicles. With a trajectory length of more than 20 kilometers and 154 corners, it is a very unique and challenging racing circuit. The track here is often referred to as a "green knife" due to varying road conditions, ranging from smooth to corrugated surfaces, as well as significant height changes.

Launching CarNewsChina, October 22, the engineering team has carried out more than 100 technical configurations and is trying nearly 100 types of tires to optimize the performance of this electric car, with the latest engineering team preparing to score the best lap times after several delays due to bad weather.

In specifications, U9 is equipped with four electric motors with a total output of 1287 dk and a peak torque of 1680 Nm. U9 is equipped with the latest technology, including a battery with a capacity of 80 kWh which can cover a distance of up to 450 km in one charge.

In previous BYD internal testing, U9 was claimed to be able to reach a maximum speed of 375.12 km/h and had an acceleration of 0-100 km/h with only 2.36 seconds, and a record travel time of 400 meters reached 9.78 seconds.

Meanwhile, with the help of the DiSus-X state-of-the-art suspension system, U9 is able to carry out extreme maneuvers such as driving on three wheels.

In addition to his amazing performance, the U9, which is sold in China, is equivalent to IDR 3.7 billion, also offers a futuristic design with extensive use of carbon fibers.

The trial at N\"ourburgring will be an important milestone for the development of BYD electric supercars capable of providing performance that is equivalent to gasoline-engine supercars.
