Ex-Excavation Oli Drum, Workshop Employee In Pekanbaru Dies

PEKANBARU - A workshop employee on Jalan Srikandi, Delima Village, Binawidya District, Pekanbaru City, Riau, died tragically, Monday afternoon. A workshop employee named Hendri Saputra Hidayat (24) died with his head separated from his body.

Kapolsek Binawidya, Kompol Asep Rahmat said the victim died as a result of one of the drums in the workshop exploded. "The victim's head was found several meters from his body. Currently, the victim's body has been evacuated using an ambulance to the Bhayangkara Hospital of the Riau Police," said Asep, Tuesday, October 22.

Asep explained, the incident began when the owner of the workshop, Irma Suryani (47) saw that the victim was cleaning up and moving the drum in front of the workshop to be attached to a used oil drum using a welding machine.

A moment later, the owner and one of the other employees heard an explosion that was quite loud from the front of the workshop where the victim welded the used oil drum.

"The owner and the victim's colleague immediately rushed to the front of the workshop and saw that the victim had died with a separate body condition with a head," said Asep.

For this incident, residents reported to the local Bhabinkamtibmas. Currently, the case of this work accident is being investigated by the authorities. The victim's body has also been evacuated using an ambulance to the Bhayangkara Hospital of the Riau Police.

"We have installed a police line at the location for smooth processing of the crime scene (TKP). The owner and employee of the workshop have also been asked for information regarding the incident," concluded Asep.
