Officially Becomes Menpar, Widiyanti Putri Wardhana Sets An Initiative Program For The Next 6 Months
JAKARTA - Widiyanti Putri Wardhana officially carries out her duties as Minister of Tourism for the period 2024-2029. The handover of the minister's duties is carried out at Balairung Soesilo Soedarman, Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf), Jakarta, Monday, October 21, 2024.
Menpar Widiyanti Wardhana in her speech emphasized that she was committed to continuing the momentum of Indonesia's tourism development. Currently, Indonesia is ranked 22 out of 119 countries in the 2024 TTDI index.
"I am committed to continuing this momentum, so that the tourism sector continues to develop. In the future there will be challenges in strengthening tourism potential (Indonesia)," said Menpar Widiyanti.
Menpar Widiyanti then revealed the priority work program that will be carried out in the next six months. The four programs are hearing the aspirations of tourism transformation with related parties; Tourism 5.0 such as marketing digital-based Calendar of Events and AI travel assistance; as well as formulating a grand strategy for the use of the Indonesia Quality Tourism Fund for diversification of archipelago attractions and international-scale events.

Minister Widiyanti said that the separation of tourism and the creative economy still provides opportunities for close synergy and sustainable collaboration between these two ministries.
Menpar Widiyanti also invited the Ministry of Creative Economy to continue to synergize and collaborate with the Ministry of Tourism.
"Mr. Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya, let's work together to advance the tourism sector and the creative economy because these two sectors have a common goal to raise the potential for natural beauty, the richness of art and culture, as well as the creative industry that we have to achieve the government's target in the next 5 years," said Widiyanti, who has experience for 30 years as a professional businessman and investor.
The woman who is also the Chair of the Main Exemplary Foundation is optimistic that a strong foundation and clear strategic steps will be able to accelerate the growth of the tourism sector and make it an inclusive, sustainable, and global economic driving force.
"We can definitely because Indonesia is 'Paradise on Earth'. At the end of the word, I hope my presence at this Ministry can be accepted with open arms, together we carry out the transformation of the tourism sector conventionally, transparently, and with integrity," said Menpar Widiyanti.
