Three Target Ministers Of Cooperatives Budi Arie In The First 100 Days

JAKARTA - Minister of Cooperatives of the Red and White Cabinet 2024-2029, Budi Arie Setiadi revealed three targets that will be accelerated in his first 100 days in office.

The first target is to digitize all cooperatives in Indonesia.

To make this happen, he ensured that he would also cooperate with the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs.

"Earlier in Kominfo, I have conveyed that the Ministry of Cooperatives and the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs will cooperate with me to digitize co-operation," he said in his remarks at the KemenKop building, Monday, October 21.

The second target is to rebrand cooperatives.

According to Budi, only 27 million Indonesians have joined cooperatives or less than 10 percent of Indonesians.

This number is much lower than individualists, capitalists, and liberalists like the United States.

"Finally, we will strengthen governance and human resources, because we have to speed up 100 days," continued Budi.

On the same occasion, Budi also revealed the reason Prabowo separated the Ministry of Cooperatives from the Ministry of MSMEs, which was previously part of the Ministry of Cooperatives and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (Kemenkop UMKM).

Budi said that this could not be separated from the role of President Prabowo's grandfather and father, who was one of the founders of the cooperative.

"Therefore, we will not have many theories in cooperatives, the important thing is action," added di.

For this reason, he also targets the level of community participation in cooperatives to reach 27 million or a double increase in a year of leading the ministry.
