Having A Deputy Minister, Bahlil Reveals Yuliot's Duties At The Ministry Of Energy And Mineral Resources

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto appointed Yuliot Tanjung as Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM). Previously, this position was last held by Arcandra tahar in the Working Cabinet of President Joko Widodo from October 2016 to October 2019.

The position of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources was again held by Bahlil, who previously also held the same position.

Bahlil explained that Yuliot's task as Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources was to take care of the internal Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and he would take care of internal and external affairs in the ministry.

Bahlil detailed that Yuliot's task as Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources was to supervise policies at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

"For example, he must check whether the director-general has done the right work or not, according to what is recommended or not. Then, he oversees the administration, overlapping rules, then he makes the rules that are solutions," explained Bahlil.

Based on VOI records, Yuliot served as Deputy Minister of Investment/Deputy Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM). The man who was born in Padang Panjang, October 6, 61 years ago, graduated from Livestock Production at Andalas University and the Management Master of the PPM Management College.

Prior to becoming Deputy Minister of Investment, Yuliot had served as Head of the BKPM Representative Office in Taiwan, Head of the Planning and Information Bureau, Director of Domestic Promotion, Director of Regional Implementation Control II, to Director of Deregulation.

After serving as Deputy for Investment Climate Development as of October 2020-September 2023, Yuliot was mandated to become Deputy for Control of the Implementation of Main Expert Investment at the Ministry of Investment/BKPM until June 2024.
