Menpora Dito Ariotedjo Glad To Be Assisted By Taufik Hidayat

JAKARTA - The Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora), Dito Ariotedjo, is delighted to be assisted by the Indonesian badminton legend, Taufik Hidayat, who occupies the position of Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports in the Red and White Cabinet for the period 2024-2029.

Dito said that the presence of Taufik Hidayat to accompany him was an important step because he had a myriad of achievements when he was still active as an athlete.

"With Mas Taufik, I think he is very positive. His character is very inspiring for the younger generation," said Menpora Dito at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Jakarta, Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday, October 21, 2024.

As long as he is still active as a badminton player, Taufik Hidayat has won several brilliant achievements. One of them is winning the 2004 Athens Olympic gold medal.

Dito hopes Taufik can provide additional positive energy at the Ministry of Youth and Sports. With his status as a tepok bulu sports legend, Taufik is considered to have a strong influence.

"There will definitely be a delegation of tasks that I think will be able to touch the sports and young people directly," he said.

Taufik is one of several Deputy Ministers inaugurated by President Prabowo Subitano at the Merdeka Palace, Central Jakarta, on Monday, October 21, 2024, morning WIB.

Menpora mengatakan bahwa dalam menjalankan tugas nanti dirinya akan membangun koordinasi dengan Taufik. Kerja sama ini, kata Dito, bakal sangat membantu.

"Already chatting (with Taufik). Surely he conveyed how he could help the Ministry of Youth and Sports. There are many things I think we have to give the agency to coordinate with each other," said Dito.

Apart from the Olympics, Taufik Hidayat was also recorded as having won gold medals at the SEA Games and Asian Games. In addition, he was also noted to have won the world.

Another achievement was to rank one in the world and lead the Indonesian badminton team to achieve prestigious achievements in winning the Thomas Cup event.
