JAKARTA - Indonesian Vice President (Vice President) Gibran Rakabuming Raka introduced a typical Nusantara culinary when holding a lunch on the honorary visit of Chinese Vice President Han Zheng at the Vice President's Palace, Jakarta, today.
Vice President Han Zheng is in Jakarta to attend the inauguration of the President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Elect Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka on Sunday, October 20 yesterday.
Before the lunch started, as reported by Antara, Vice President Gibran and Vice President Han Zheng had a chance to talk in the audience room. On that occasion, Vice President Han Zheng congratulated President Prabowo and Vice President Gibran.
Han Zheng also said Chinese President Xi Jinping paid great attention to the Indonesian government and was looking forward to further cooperation between the two countries in the future.
After the meeting, Gibran introduced typical Indonesian food to Vice President Han Zheng. The series of menus from several regions in Indonesia has also been carefully compiled to display Indonesia's superiority in the culinary field with materials produced directly from the country of this thousand islands.
In addition, the preparation of the menu displayed is also a step in strengthening Indonesia's steps in the world of diplomacy, namely through gastrodisporation (part of public diplomacy carried out by introducing culinary culture of a country).
Eating afternoon served various Indonesian specialties such as salted egg bread, brain-brain, and overdo Balinese oranges, chicken fire, manokwari fire, and kecombrang fried rice.
Han Zheng also praised the typical Indonesian foods rich in spices.
In 2025, Indonesia and China will also celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries. In this regard, Vice President Gibran and Vice President Han Zheng conveyed their commitment to strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries.
