44 Foreigners Who Act In Mataram NTB Have Been Deported By The Immigration Office

MATARAM - The Mataram Immigration Office, West Nusa Tenggara, was recorded to have deported 44 foreign nationals (WNA) in the 2024 period.

"From January to October 2024, 44 foreigners have been deported," said Head of the Mataram Immigration Office Selfario Adhityawan Pikuhun in Mataram, Antara, Monday, October 21.

44 foreigners who were deported this year consisted of 17 people with overstay status or exceeding the residence permit time and 27 others who were proven to have abused their residence permit while on the island of Lombok which was under the supervision of the Mataram Immigration Office.

"The last one (deported) was 10 foreigners from China. They were proven to have abused their residence permit," he said.

The issue of the misuse of the residence permit for 10 Chinese foreigners is related to the business of buying and selling pearls.

"What they should have here was according to their permit for travel, but was proven to run a pearl buying and selling business. Finally, we deported them with a penalty (prevent and prevent) from returning to Indonesia," he said.

Furthermore, Selfario said that the deportation of foreigners was in accordance with the procedure. Before being deported, foreigners were first secured in a detention room with a maximum duration of 30 days.

"In security status in the detention room, we must be able to prove their immigration violations," he said.

Selfario also revealed that in the 2024 period, his party handled the problem of Chinese foreigners the most. Likewise, of the 44 foreigners who were deported, most of them came from China.

"The most of the problems we found were foreigners from China, then followed by European territory," he said.
