Gerindra Said About Major Teddy Being Cabinet Secretary: No Need To Resign From The TNI, His Position Is Under The State Secretary
JAKARTA - The daily chairman of the Gerindra Party DPP, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, explained about the position of aide to the President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto, Teddy Indra Wijaya or Major Teddy in the Red and White Cabinet.
Dasco said his position as Cabinet Secretary was under the Ministry of State Secretary so there was no need to resign from the TNI.
This was conveyed by Dasco in response to the number of parties who questioned how an active TNI member with the rank of major could fill the position of Cabinet Secretary.
Dasco explained that the nomenclature of the Cabinet Secretary was abolished and merged under the coordination of the Minister of State Secretary.
"The structure and organizational charts have changed so that there is no Menseskab but are merged under the Minister of State Secretary," Dasco said when contacted, Monday, October 21.
Therefore, continued Dasco, Major Teddy did not need to resign from his position as an active TNI officer. Because said Dasco, the position of Cabinet Secretary is no longer at the ministerial level.
"So that this nomenclature change can be filled by Brother Teddy without having to retire from the TNI because it is not at the ministerial level," he said.
The deputy chairman of the DPR again emphasized that the position of Cabinet Secretary previously held by Pramono Anung was under the State Secretariat. The Cabinet Secretary, said Dasco, may be filled by TNI officers with the highest limits equivalent to echelon II or Brigadier General.
"The structure of the Seskab, is under the same State Secretariat as positions that can be filled by TNI or Polri officers such as Sesmil, Sespri, and others whose limits are the highest equivalent of Echelon II or if the TNI-Polri are the highest equivalent of Brigadier General," he concluded.
Previously, the Head of Information (Kapen) of the Army Strategic Reserve Command (Kostrad) Colonel Inf. Hendhi Yustian Danang Suta, said that the status of Infantry Major Teddy Indra Wijaya was still an active TNI member.
It is known that Teddy was announced as Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Sunday, October 20, evening.
