Nawawi Pomolango Hopes Prabowo-Gibran Will Not Intervene And Maintain The Integrity Of The KPK

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) hopes that Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka will not intervene after being officially inaugurated as president and vice president on Sunday, October 20.

This was conveyed by the Chairman of the KPK, Nawawi Pomolango, who initially said he was ready to fully support the Prabowo-Gibran government. But, on the other hand, he reminded the importance of ensuring the independence of law enforcement officers, especially when handling corruption cases.

"This effort without intervention is very important to maintain the professionalism and integrity of law enforcement agencies, and ensure a just and transparent rule of law," Nawawi said in a written statement quoted Monday, October 21.

Nawawi also mentioned about realizing promised legal reforms. "Especially in strengthening law enforcement institutions such as the KPK, police, prosecutors, and justice," he said.

In the future, the anti-corruption commission will continue its duties and functions not only regarding prosecution but also prevention and anti-corruption education. Nawawi said his party was ready to help the government eradicate corruption related to the lives of many people.

Among them are in the agricultural, rural, fishery, education, health, and natural resource management sectors. "Together with the government, the KPK will continue to work to ensure that public resources are managed properly and free from corruption," concluded Nawawi.
