Hanif Faisol Nurofiq, Candidate For Minister Of Environment: Access To Services Runs As Usual

JAKARTA - The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, has divided the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) into two government agencies. The Ministry of Environment / Environment Control Agency and the Ministry of Forestry.

This separation was officially announced by President Prabowo after undergoing the inauguration, Sunday, October 20, 2024, at 21.30 WIB at the State Palace, Jakarta.

According to President Prabowo, this separation aims to increase efficiency and focus in carrying out the duties and functions of each ministry.

During the government period from 2024 to 2029, the Ministry of Environment (KLH) / Environmental Control Agency (BPLH) was formed as a more responsive, strategic, and focused effort in facing the challenges of environmental quality conditions and the effects of climate change.

This institution is expected to be able to support the vision of "Together with Advanced Indonesia Towards Golden Indonesia 2045," which is a pillar of sustainable development in Indonesia.

KLH is expected to be the vanguard for the implementation of a green economy and ensure that development investment policies in Indonesia meet the principles of sustainability.

Along with the announcement of the institution itself, President Prabowo also officially announced the Minister of Environment in the composition of the Red and White cabinet, Dr. Hanif Faisol Nurofiq.

As is known, Dr. Hanif Faisol Nurofiq previously served as Director General of Forestry and Environmental Planning, Ministry of Environment and Forestry.

"Institutional changes will indeed be followed by a transition process. However, public services in the ministry will continue to run according to existing regulations. The public can access services as usual without worrying about disturbances", said Hanif Faisol Nurofiq, Candidate for the Minister of Environment/Head of BPLH, in a written statement, Sunday evening, October 20, 2024.
