The SAR Team For The Evacuation Of Six Rohingya Immigrants Due To Illness In South Aceh

The Joint SAR Team evacuated six Rohingya immigrants from the ship they were traveling in the waters of Labuhan Haji, South Aceh Regency.

"Six Rohingya immigrants were evacuated to the mainland due to illness. Others are still on motorbikes," said the Coordinator of Basarnas Pos Meulaboh Juanda in South Aceh, quoting Antara, Sunday, October 20, 2024.

After being evacuated to the mainland, the six Rohingya immigrants were taken by ambulance to the Yuliddin Away Regional General Hospital (RSUD) in Tapaktuan, the capital of South Aceh Regency.

Juanda said the number of Rohingya immigrants on board the motorboat was 151 people. Consisting of 79 adult women, 13 adult men and children aged 10 years were brought as many as 59 people.

"The six people who were evacuated were two of them adult women, two village men, a child, and a pregnant woman. The evacuation went smoothly without problems," said Juanda.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Service Division of the Yuliddin Away Tapaktuan Hospital, Ikram, said that the six Rohingya immigrants are currently undergoing examination at the hospital owned by the South Aceh Regency Government.

"Their complaints, among them, were fever, cough and runny nose. The examination was also carried out on the pregnant Rohingya woman. We do not yet know how their condition is because the medical team is examining her," said Ikram.

If later these immigrants need further treatment such as this treatment, said Ikram, his party will also provide inpatient facilities.

"We also provide special rooms. Their rooms are separate from other patients. We also ask for assistance from related parties, including the International Organization for Immigration or IOM to assist them and the security forces to maintain the safety of patients being treated," said Ikram.
