Gerindra Confirms PDIP Will Not Send Its Cadres To Prabowo's Cabinet, Secretary General: It Doesn't Mean Opository

JAKARTA - Secretary General of the Gerindra Party, Ahmad Muzani, confirmed that PDIP did not send its cadres into the cabinet of President Prabowo Subianto's government. However, according to Muzani, it does not mean that PDIP is taking an opposition stance.

"It is true that the PDI-P will not put its cadres (in the cabinet). But for the PDI-P it does not mean the opposition," said Muzani at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Sunday, October 20.

"The PDI-P does not recognize the opposition but also does not recognize the coalition. The coalition does not mean that it must put a minister in the government. Opposition does not have to take a way with the government," he continued.

Questioning Budi Gunawan who Prabowo called to Kertanegara, the former head of BIN is a professional. It is known, Budi Gunawan or BG is very close to the PDIP chairman Megawati Soekarnoputri.

"Pak BG is an expert in his field," said the chairman of the MPR.

Muzani emphasized that Gerindra was not worried that PDIP would hinder the running of Prabowo's government. Moreover, the chairman of the DPR as well as the chairman of the PDIP DPP, Puan Maharani, has stated that she supports Prabowo's government in Parliament.

"What was conveyed so, for PDIP, it does not recognize the word opposition and does not recognize the word coalition. That is the presidential system. If we enter, it does not mean that we must put its cadres in the ministry. If we are the opposition, we must not always take a way with the government," explained Muzani.

Therefore, continued Muzani, Megawati continued to send her cadres to attend the inauguration of the President and Vice President to support Prabowo as the 8th President of the Republic of Indonesia. Although Megawati could not attend because she was not healthy.

"That's why then Mrs. Mega, even though she didn't come because her condition was not fit, she ordered 110 members of the MPR to make it a success and be present today. And thank God, my friends from PDIP 110 were present," said Muzani.

"And we thank you because we feel there is warmth, there is extraordinary togetherness in the MPR plenary session that has just taken place," he continued.

Muzani added that Megawati and Prabowo were matching the time to meet.

"Yes, the plan is still the same. Mrs. Mega will also meet with President Prabowo Subianto. And when the meeting will be, yes, it will be matched with the timing and activities of the two of him," he concluded.
