Megawati Apologizes For Not Attending Prabowo's Inauguration, Puan: Unhealthy After Long Travel

JAKARTA - The 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia Megawati Soekarnoputri apologized to Prabowo Subianto for not being able to attend the inauguration ceremony of the President of the Republic of Indonesia which was held at the MPR/DPR/DPD RI Building, this morning. The reason is, the chairman of the PDIP DPP is not healthy because he traveled a long time ago.

Megawati conveyed this apology through the Chairman of the DPR and Chairperson of the PDIP DPP Puan Maharani, when asked about the plan to meet Mega and Prabowo which had not yet occurred until the day of the presidential inauguration.

"God willing, we will soon meet together before the inauguration or after the inauguration," said Puan Maharani at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Sunday, October 20.

"Incidentally, Mega's mother conveyed her greetings to Pak Prabowo, I have apologized and survived her inauguration, (Megawati) is not healthy for the long journey she made some time ago," he continued.

However, Puan ensured that the relationship and the intention to meet between Megawati and Pranowo as children of the nation and national figures will always exist. "And we are looking for the right time," said Puan.

As Megawati's daughter, Puan felt that her mother's presence at Prabowo's inauguration had been represented. "As the chairman of the DPR, of course, I represent Megawati's family as well as PDIP," he said.
