President Prabowo Commitment To Prioritizing People's Interests

JAKARTA - The 8th President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto expressed his commitment to continue to prioritize the interests of the Indonesian people above the interests of all groups.

Prabowo in his inaugural speech after being inaugurated as the 8th President of the Republic of Indonesia at the Nusantara Building, Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Sunday stated that he and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka would give up their entire body for the benefit of the Indonesian nation.

"We will prioritize the interests of the Indonesian people, the interests of the Indonesian people above all interests above all groups, especially our personal interests," he said.

Prabowo stated that his commitment was conveyed considering the struggles that the Indonesian people had gone through were very long, with various struggles in the process of achieving independence.

"We understand and we understand that our independence is not a gift. Our independence can be with a very big sacrifice," he said.

Therefore, he stated that he would maintain the oath he had made as well as possible, and carry out the applicable constitution.

Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka took the oath of office as President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia for the 2024-2029 term of service at the MPR RI Plenary Session at the Nusantara Building, Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Sunday.

Wrapped in Betawi traditional suits and fabrics, Prabowo and Gibran took the oath of office smoothly under the holy Koran.

"By Allah, I swear that I will fulfill the obligations of the President of the Republic of Indonesia as well as possible and fairly as possible, uphold the Basic Law and carry out all laws and regulations as straight as possible and serve Nusa and the Nation," Prabowo said reading his oath.

Gibran also took his oath as Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia. After that, the two signed the Minutes of Inauguration.

A total of 709 of the 731 MPR RI members witnessed the procession of taking the oath of office.

The Plenary Session of the MPR RI was also attended by national figures, leaders of political parties, and representatives of friendly countries. There were at least 20 officials at the level of the head of state and 18 ministerial-level officials who attended the inauguration ceremony at the Nusantara Building.
