Observers Ask Not To Damage Pilkada With 'Social Assistance Attack'

JAKARTA - Political observer at Al Azhar University, Ujang Komarudin, asked the 2024 Regional Head Election (Pilkada) contestants not to make the distribution of social assistance in the form of basic necessities as a campaign tool. Because, this will not produce quality leaders.

"If it is done with social assistance, it is not a leader with quality and integrity, not a good leader. Even if you win, you give something to voters, to the people," Ujang told reporters, Sunday, October 20.

Therefore, in the 2024 Pilkada contestation, it is hoped that there will be no intervention from the authorities. Thus, the value of democracy can run well.

On the other hand, Ujang asked people who saw or knew about the alleged fraud to report it to Bawaslu.

The role of society is very influential in producing quality leaders to advance regions throughout Indonesia.

Not only waiting for the report but also being investigated, investigated, searched, who did it and brought to the realm of law. Otherwise it will become moral damage and damage in the Pilkada because everything is silent, because everything is indifferent, it doesn't matter," he said.

"Even though Bawaslu has the authority to do that, so yes, it must be found who did it, investigated if it is true that Bawaslu was brought to the realm of law and given sanctions," continued Ujang.

The action of distributing basic necessities which is suspected to be an election violation was carried out by the Central Kalimantan Provincial Government (Central Kalimantan Provincial Government). Thousands of food packages continue to be distributed throughout the region in Central Kalimantan by Governor Sugianto Sabran.

The food packages distributed consisted of 10 kilograms of rice, 1 kilogram of sugar, and 1 liter of cooking oil with a value of IDR 198,500 per package.

Each recipient of the basic food package receives a subsidy from the Central Kalimantan Provincial Government of Rp. 178,500 so that the community only redeems Rp. 20,000 per package.

Regarding this, Sugianto Sabran spoke up. According to him, the action of distributing basic necessities packaged in cheap markets is to control inflation and maintain stable prices for basic necessities and even to prevent stunting.
