MUI Chairman Wants Prabowo-Gibran To Clean The Country From Corrupt Officials

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Central Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) KH Anwar Iskandar hopes that Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka, who was inaugurated as President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia on Sunday, October 20, can clean the country from corrupt officials.

"Then (he hopes) he will be able to clean this country from corrupt officers and so on," said Anwar after closing the XXVII Ansor Youth Movement Grand Conference in Sentul, Bogor Regency, West Java, quoted from Antara.

According to him, corruption is one of the actions that can weaken a nation, so that eradication steps are needed to bring Indonesia to become a country that is able to prosper its people.

Anwar said, apart from acts of corruption, several other things that could weaken the nation and needed to be eradicated immediately, namely online gambling and drug trafficking.

"Crazy corruption, economic programs and others can be destroyed later. With online gambling, people become weak. With drugs, people lose their intelligence and the future," said Anwar.

He prayed that in the future the President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia would be given the ability to eradicate everything that could weaken the nation.

"Praying for our President to be given a long life, given health, and able to bring Indonesia to become a country that gives prosperity to the people, especially our President is able to eradicate corruption, eradicate things that can weaken this nation," he said.

Anwar hopes that Prabowo-Gibran will be able to defend the country's sovereignty, prosper the community, educate the nation's life, and make Indonesia an important part of the international community to lead a peaceful life.
