Police Arrest Fake Police Fraud Fraud Ojek Online

JAKARTA - The police arrested Yuda Eka Pranata, who was the perpetrator of fraud with victims of online motorcycle taxi drivers. The mode is pretending to be a member of the Police.

Head of Sub-Directorate of Jatanras Directorate of General Criminal Investigation of Polda Metro Jaya, AKBP Rovan Richard Mahenu said the perpetrator was arrested after taking action in the Bekasi area, West Java.

"The YEP perpetrator is 30 years old. The mode in question is pretending to be a police officer," said Rovan when confirmed, Saturday, October 19.

From the examination, the suspect claimed to be a member of the police officer with the rank of Adjunct Commissioner of Police (AKP). He used this mode because he was considered younger in deceiving the victim.

With this mode, the suspect Yuda Eka Pranata has acted eight times in different areas.

"The average victims are ordinary people, the majority of online motorcycle taxis," he said.

The modus operandi of claiming to be a member of the police by the suspect was strengthened by wearing clothes that read 'jatanras'.

The shirt is indeed synonymous with members of the detective who often handle criminal acts or street crimes.

The suspect got the clothes by buying Rp150 thousand in the Senen area, Central Jakarta.

"The suspect bought the clothes to convince the victim that he was a police officer," said Rovan.

In this case, the suspect Yuda Eka Pranata is suspected of under Article 378 of the Criminal Code with a penalty of 4 years in prison.
