Ministry Of Energy And Mineral Resources Blocks 15 IUPs Of Tin Imbas Corruption Cases
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources blocks at least 15 Tin Mining Business Permits (IUP). Director General of Mineral and Coal (Minerba) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Tri Winarno said the blocking of the IUP was the result of the corruption case in tin commodity management that occurred in the PT Timah Tbk (TINS) area some time ago.
"About 14 or 15 (IUP) like that. While it's blocked first, I'll see what the case will be," Tri told the media crew quoted on Saturday, October 19.
Tri explained that this blocking aims to evaluate thoroughly while monitoring further developments related to the TINS corruption case which cost the state up to Rp300 trillion.
Regarding the area of the blocked IUP, Tri ensured that these 15 IUPs were not significant land. In addition, the reserves contained in the 15 IUPs are also quite small.
"If the reserves are not so big. That area is almost 80 percent owned by PT Timah, so it's not too big," added Tri.
Previously, the Attorney General stated that the state losses in the case of alleged corruption in the tin trading system in the PT Timah Tbk Mining Business Permit (IUP) region from 2015 to 2022 based on the results of the BPKP audit reached IDR 300.003 trillion.
"Initially we estimated Rp271 trillion, it turns out that after being audited the BPKP, the value was quite fantastic, around Rp300,003 trillion," said Attorney General Sanitiar Burhanuddin at the Attorney General's Office, Jakarta, Wednesday, May 29.
