Pep Guardiola Leaves, Man City Has Prepared Plan B

JAKARTA - There is no certainty that Pep Guardiola's manager will stay at Manchester City or decide to leave at the end of the competition season. However, Man City confirmed that there was plan B, namely finding a replacement for Guardiola if he refused to sign a new contract.

Man City is still waiting and hoping Guardiola extends his contract for another year. This is to fulfill Guardiola's decade of handling The Cityzens.

Not only that, Guardiola has broken the record for leading Man City to win the English Premier League for the fourth time in a row. This season, Man City has ambitions to become the first team to win the Premier League five times without breaking up.

At least that record could release Man City from the shadow of the glory of a neighboring club, Manchester United, which has made various records. MU has also confirmed it as one of the legendary clubs with Liverpool.

Guardiola's contract at Man City will expire next year after the competition is over. Only until now, Guardiola has not signed a new contract that has been offered by the club. This raises speculation that the former Barcelona coach will leave Etihad.

Although there is no certainty from Guardiola, Man City has targeted coaches at various clubs. Goalkeeper Ederson said Man City had prepared to replace Guardiola.

Because sooner or later, the manager will leave the club he brought to win trebles, Premier League champions, FA Cup and Champions League, in the 2023 season. However, Ederson stated that the club had not yet decided who would replace Guardiola.

"Not yet. No one has been linked [to be manager] yet. But what is certain is that Man City is a club that has a very neat organizational structure with a good managerial. The club also has the best directors with the best CEOs," Ederson was quoted as saying by The Sun.

"This makes me sure that the club is already thinking about and preparing a new manager when Pep decides to leave. They of course just need to follow what has been outlined," said Ederson, who admitted that Man City still lost best manager when Guardiola left.

"Of course this is a big loss. We have the best manager in the world. But the club is also ready when they enter the post-Pep era," said the Brazilian national team goalkeeper.

If Guardiola leaves, Man City has already designed who will replace him. Sporting coach Lisbon Ruben Amorim is one of the candidates for Man City.

The success of the ambition at the elite Portuguese club has made him targeted by various clubs. Previously, Liverpool and MU wanted to bring him in. But Amorim refused an offer from the Reds to replace Juergen Klopp.

Apart from being absorbed, Xabi Alonso is being hunted by top clubs, Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. However, Alonso chose to stay at Bayer Leverkusen which he led to win the German League for the first time in the club's history.

Finally, Vincent Kompany, former captain of Man City, who is said to be replacing Guardiola. However, currently Kompany is with Bayern. This Bundesliga giant also shows his satisfaction with Company's performance.
