The Kudus Resort Police, Central Java, named a man with the initials S, a resident of Dersalam Village, Bae District, Kudus, as a suspect in the murder of a biological child and faces up to 15 years in prison.

"The perpetrator is his own biological father, subject to Article 338 of the Criminal Code concerning murder with a penalty of 15 years in prison," said Head of the Kudus Police AKBP Ronni Bonic accompanied by Deputy Chief of Police Satya Adi Nugroho and Head of Criminal Investigation Unit AKP Danail Arifin at the Kudus Police Headquarters, Antara, Friday, October 18.

The motive for the murder was because the victim, Bambang Haryanto (38), who lives in Ketanjung Village, Demak Regency, has often abused his biological mother and wife.

In fact, the victim also threatened to kill and burn the house when his wish was not fulfilled, especially when asking for money to pay off debts.

When the victim came to his parents' residence with his wife and children on Tuesday night, October 15, 2024, he also forced his wife to find some money to pay off debts.

Knowing the victim's behavior, his father, who was outside the house of emotion, came to the victim who was sleeping with a crowbar and hit the victim to death.

To find out the cause of death of the victim, apart from investigating the crime scene, the police also conducted an autopsy on the victim's body. After the incident, the perpetrator surrendered by visiting a member of the Kudus Police, whose house is also close to the perpetrator's house.

Suspect S admitted that he was emotional when he heard that his son came to his house because he had previously hit the mother with a spear and was about to injure with a sharp weapon. Luckily his mother was able to avoid it so that it survived.

The victim also threatened his wife to kill and burn his house if he could not provide some money.

"Previously the victim also demanded that his mother sell the house and land by telephone. If it does not threaten to kill and burn the house," he said.

The suspect admitted that he regretted that he had no intention of killing the victim. However, because he received a report that the victim was angry, he finally provoked emotions.

The victim is known to be a recidivist of four criminal cases, ranging from theft, theft with violence, to persecution, and repeatedly languishing in prison.
