Face Hit By Bag, Airplane Passenger Demands Egypt Air Due To Damaged Face To Cracked Teeth

JAKARTA - A man from Connecticut, United States named Jarek Neczypor has filed a federal lawsuit against EgyptAir with flight number 985. In the lawsuit, the 31-year-old has included allegations of causing severe physical and mental injury during a flight from Cairo to John F. Kennedy Airport in New York.

Reporting from the NDTV page, according to a Manhattan federal court filing, the incident occurred on August 17. On the flight, Neczypor said the branched bag suddenly fell from the compartment above his chair. It fell right on his face.

The fall of the bag resulted in injury to damage to his face. The upper series was cracked and a severe facial injury, according to reports from the New York Post. To exacerbate the situation, the cabin crew moved Neczypor to another seat.

Unfortunately, the new seat is thought to have been damaged and not installed properly on the floor. For the remaining 11.5 hours, Neczypor suffered neck and back injuries, due to damaged seats.

Neczypor's lawsuit asks for undisclosed compensation from EgyptAir. Neczypor mentions pain, sadness, and mental suffering. The incident reportedly left him with prolonged physical and emotional trauma. The lawsuit alleges the negligence and failure of EgyptAir in ensuring the safety of passengers to causing injury suffered by Neczypor.

A similar incident occurred in July when an old woman on a Cathay Pacific flight to London. She was injured when a luggage fell from the upper compartment and hit her head.

According to the South China Morning Post, the incident occurred when flights left Hong Kong International Airport for London's Heathrow Airport. The woman received medical assistance at the airport before being transferred to North Lantau Hospital for further treatment.

"The cause of the injury may have been due to the wrong luggage in the storage compartment, just above the head. Our cabin crew and ground staff immediately asked for help, sending the passengers to the nearest hospital for further medical treatment. Then, cancel flights for passengers and family members. He arranged for the family members to stay at the airport hotel," said a Cathay Pacific spokesman.

In particular, airlines are usually responsible for injuries suffered by passengers, unless they can show the injury is caused by the negligence of the passenger itself.
