Suspicious Objects Appearing To Anxiety, Madiun's Purbaya Terminal Is Certainly Not A Bomb

MADIUN - Madiun City Police Chief AKBP Dewa Putu Eka Darmawan confirmed that the suspicious objects found in the waiting room of the Purbaya Terminal in Madiun City, East Java were not bombs.

"We confirm that the contents in the cardboard boxes found at Purbaya Terminal are not dangerous objects," said AKBP Dewa in Madiun as quoted by Antara, Monday, April 5.

According to him, the certainty of the contents of the cardboard box which was not a dangerous object or a bomb was based on the results of the investigation by the Gegana team from Battalion C Pioneering Mobile Brigade Unit of the East Java Regional Police.

There were also the results of the examination using an X-Ray tool, the cardboard box contained three stacks of objects without any electrical circuit elements found.

Although it is confirmed that the Madiun area and its surroundings are conducive, the Police Chief asked the people in his jurisdiction to remain vigilant with the surrounding environment.

If something is found that is strange and leads to a disturbance in the social security, community members can report to the head of the RT, village head, or the nearest police officer.

Previously reported, on Saturday, April 3 at night, passengers and officers at the Purbaya Terminal in Madiun City found an unmanned cardboard box in the waiting room of the terminal.

The finding of the suspicious object was then reported to the Madiun Kota Police because it was feared that it was a dangerous object or a bomb, given the current situation full of terror issues.

Furthermore, the evacuation process was carried out by the East Java Police Mobile Brigade Gegana Team. About 45 minutes of investigation, officers confirmed that it was not a bomb. Rather, they are common objects, such as stones and leaves.

Regarding these findings, the police chief appealed to the public to remain calm. Also, not to cloud the atmosphere by creating issues whose aim is to disturb the public.

"Do not let an irresponsible incident like this happen again. Moreover, it disturbs the residents. Let's keep Madiun City still conducive," he said.
