Israeli Airstrike Kills 11 People In Gaza
JAKARTA - Israeli airstrikes killed 11 Palestinians in Gaza City. Israeli troops sent tanks to the Greater Java region which is also inhabited by refugees.
Residents of Jabalia said Israeli forces blew up a number of houses from the air, with tank fire and by placing bombs in buildings before firing them remotely.
Gaza's civil service said it evacuated several injured people from a school housing Palestinian refugees who were on fire after being hit by Israeli tank fire.
Residents said Israeli forces isolated Beit Hanoun, Jabalia, and Beit Lahiya in the northern tip of the enclave from Gaza City, blocking movement except for families with permits to heed evacuation orders and leave the three cities.
"We have written our death record, and we will not leave Jabalia," a resident told Reuters on Thursday, October 17.

"The Colonizers (Israel) punished us for not leaving our homes in the early days of the war, and we are also not leaving now. They blew up houses and streets, and left us starving, but we died once and we didn't. We will not lose our pride," said the father of four.
