KKB Leader Paniai KSAD West Papua Army Arrested By Joint Team, 104 Disita Ammunition Items
Head of the Cartenz Peace Operations Task Force Brigadier General Faizal Rahmadani said the joint team of the Cartenz Damai Ops Task Force and the Dogiay Police had arrested one of the leaders of the KKB in the Paniai area.
A joint team arrested Jemmy Magai Yogi who served as Army Chief of Staff of the West Papua Army (WPA) Division II Pemka IV Paniai. The team also confiscated 104 rounds of ammunition.
Jemmy Magai was arrested while crossing in front of the Dogiay DPRD office, Wednesday, October 16.
Head of the Cartenz Peace Operations Task Force, Brigadier General Faizal Rahmadani, explained that the arrest began with information stating that there was a shift in ammunition from Nabire to Paniai so that an investigation was carried out.
From the investigation carried out, it was revealed that the ammunition shift was carried out by Jemmy Magai Yogi from Nabire Regency to Paniai Regency which passed through the jurisdiction of the Dogiyai Police.
While passing in front of the Dogiay DPRD office using a double cabin vehicle, the joint team arrested Jemmy and nine people and secured hundreds of ammunition of various calibers.
Jemmy Magai Yogi is the younger brother of Damianus Magai Yogi who serves as the West Papua Army KKB Commander, said Brigadier General Faizal Rahmadani.
Jemmy Magai Yogi was involved in a 2015 firearms theft case and was involved in a shootout with the TNI in Bibida District, Paniai Regency last May.
