Ahead Of Purnatugas, Jokowi Inaugurates 2 Trans Sumatra Toll Roads Worth IDR 11.92 T

JAKARTA - Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) inaugurated the completion of the construction of two toll roads which are part of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS) in parts of North Sumatra and Jambi, today.

The two sections are the Indrapura Toll Road Section 2 (Fifty-Kisaran) in North Sumatra Province and the Bayung Lencir Toll Road "Tempino Section of the Betung Jambi Toll Road in Asahan, Jambi Province.

"Alhamdulillah, this afternoon it has been completed," said Jokowi as seen on the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube, Wednesday, October 16.

Jokowi said Bayung Lencir Toll Road to Tempino section 3 in Jambi has a length of 34 kilometers (km). Its construction cost a budget of IDR 5.6 trillion with a total work time of the last two years.

Meanwhile, the Indrapura Toll Road has been built since 2018 with investment through the State Budget worth Rp6.32 trillion. This toll road has a total length of 47.75 km consisting of 2 sections, namely section 1 Indrapura' Five Piluh along 15.6 km and section 2 Fifty' kisaran along 32.15 km.

"This will be a competitiveness and grow new economic growth points, both in North Sumatra and Jambi Provinces," he said.

Jokowi hopes that with the Trans Sumatra Toll Road, in particular the two toll roads that are currently inaugurated with a total budget of IDR 11.92 trillion, they will be able to provide speed in the mobility of people, goods and logistics distribution.

"So that each region will be able to compete with regions in other countries because the competition between countries is very tight," he said.
