Shin Tae-yong: China's Desire To Win Bigger
JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team lost their trip to China headquarters, Qingdao Youth Football Stadium, on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.
In the fourth match of Group C of the Third Round of the 2026 World Cup Qualification, the Garuda Squad lost 1-2.
However, Shin Tae-yong still appreciated the appearance of his troops. He considered that all the players had given their best throughout the match.
"Even though they lost, the Indonesian national team has shown their best performance," said Shin Tae-yong in a press conference session after the match.
The South Korean coach admits that China has a greater desire to win than the Indonesian national team. Moreover, the Dragon Team is fully supported by supporters.

"Congratulations to China for winning this match. Both China and Indonesia have actually both shown a desire to win. However, China's desire is much greater," said the 54-year-old coach.
This result was the first defeat of the Indonesian national team in the Third Round of the 2026 World Cup Qualification.
In the previous three matches, the Garuda Squad managed to get three points from the results of the series against teams like Saudi Arabia (1-1), Australia (0-0), and Bahrain (2-2).
Of course, the fatigue from China is fairly anticlimactic because the Indonesian national team is predicted to be able to take its first victory.
The Garuda squad was 0-2 behind in the first half through goals from Behham Abdulweli (21') and Zhang Yuning (44').
Indonesia could only reply to one goal in the second half through Thom Haye (86') even though almost all the time it locked up China.
