Film Documentary Asmaraloka Batik Tatar Sundanese Present At The Batik Tutur Exhibition

JAKARTA - The Batik Tutur Exhibition: The Artistic Traces of the West Java Batik Traditional Guard were held in commemoration of Batik Day which falls on October 2, 2024. The event which was held on Tuesday, October 15 at the Auditorium of the Indonesia Kaya Gallery, Grand Indonesia. This exhibition also presents a screening of a West Java batik documentary film entitled Asmaraloka Batik Tatar Sunda.

Film ini mengangkat kekayaan warna dalam setiap karya batik dari Jawa Barat. Renitasari Adrian, selaku Program Direktor Bakti Budaya Djarum Foundation, mengungkapkan bahwa batik merupakan salah satu kekayaan budaya Indonesia yang harus dijaga dan dikematkan.

"This film is our effort to spread insights about Indonesian culture to the public," said Renita.

In addition to the documentary screening, Tutur Batik's activities also present a talk and show of the beauty of West Java's batik wastra with the aim of showing the wider community that the creative and artistic processes of West Java batik craftsmen continue to follow the steps of the art world and the beauty of fashion mode.

The West Java Batik Foundation (YBJB) is supported by the Djarum Foundation's Bakti Budaya, the Ministry of Education and Culture, and Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives as the motor for the implementation of Batik Tutur activities: The Artistic Traces of West Java Batik Traditional Guard as a form of carrying out the inheritance of the batik tradition to the younger generation and the wider community in Indonesia.

In this event, Sendy Dede Yusuf as the general chairman of YBJB gave a placard of appreciation to Hilman Farid (Director General of the Ministry of Education and Culture), Dede Yusuf (Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives), and Renitasari Adrian (Program Director of Bakti Budaya Djarum Foundation), for efforts to preserve West Java's batik culture.
