1 In 5 Bodies Of Tambora Fire Victims Difficult To Find

The body of an elderly woman with the initials S (66) is still being sought in the rubble of her burning house on Jalan Kalianyar IV RT/RW 11/02 Kalianyar, Tambora, West Jakarta, Tuesday.

"There are five that have been identified, four are at the Police Hospital (Keramat Jati), one is still we are looking for, maybe because the semi-permanent building, three floors, once he collapsed the victim was hit," said Lurah Kalianyar Dwi Cahyono at the location, Tuesday.

Cahyono explained that of the several bodies that were taken to the Keramat Jati Police Hospital, only four bodies could be identified, while one other victim was still unidentified.

"In the morning we brought it, it turned out that someone was attached. It was identified by the DNA, that's four people, one is still left behind, we are still looking for it," said Cahyono.

Meanwhile, the Mayor of West Jakarta, Uus Kuswanto, said that the identification of the victims was fully handed over to the police.

"Later, only the police will look for it later," said Uus.

The burning of a resident's house on Jalan Kali Anyar IV, RT 11/02, Tambora District, West Jakarta scorched 30 houses. The fire also killed 5 local residents.

The five dead victims were Raihan (7), Asgar (13) and Yoka (12). The three were male. Then the other two victims were named Sriyani (66) and Aryanti (40).

Head of the Jakarta Fire Service, Satriadi Gunawan, said the fire broke out at 01.23 WIB and the fire extinguishing process was completed at around 07.20 WIB.

"There were 30 houses burned down with 5 fatalities," he said, Tuesday, October 15.

A total of 22 fire engines were dispatched to the location to work hard to extinguish the fire. The fire is thought to have been caused by an electrical short circuit.

Meanwhile, according to residents' information, the houses of residents and several rented houses were burned. The flames quickly grew because of the strong winds that night.

"The fire was hit by the wind so it got bigger quickly," said Roy, a local resident.
