Meeting The Former Head Of Yogyakarta Customs And Excise, Alexander Marwata: Report Of Alleged Gold To Steel Corruption
JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Alexander Marwata, explained the reasons behind his meeting with the former Head of Yogyakarta Customs, Eko Darmanto, who is currently being questioned.
The only basis for the meeting was because Eko Darmanto was about to report allegations of corruption that occurred in his agency.
"What is the purpose of meeting? The person concerned wants to report related to alleged corruption in the customs company agency related to gold imports, cellphones, steel," Alexander Marwata told reporters, Tuesday, October 15.
At the meeting which took place around March 2023, Alexander was not alone with the former Head of Yogyakarta Customs and Excise, but accompanied by the KPK Public Complaints (Dumas) staff.
For that reason, Alexander Marwata emphasized that there was no conflict of interest, let alone profit for him.
"Did I make a profit from that meeting? I say here, I have absolutely no profit," he said.
Even with Eko Darmanto. Alexander Marwata said that the former Yogyakarta Customs Chief did not benefit or benefit from the meeting.
