Meeting The Former Head Of Yogyakarta Customs And Excise, Alexander Marwata Called Unable To Benefit
Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Alexander Marwata stated that he did not benefit from his meeting with the former Head of Yogyakarta Customs Eko Darmanto.
According to him, the meeting was limited to Eko Darmanto, who intended to report allegations of corruption in Customs and Excise.
"Did I make a profit from that meeting? I say here, I have absolutely no profit," Alexander Marwata told reporters, Tuesday, October 15.
Even with Eko Darmanto. Alexander Marwata said that the former Head of Yogyakarta Customs and Excise did not benefit or benefit from the meeting.
Evidently, Eko Darmanto is still being prosecuted by the KPK. In fact, he has been found guilty with a sentence of four years in prison in gratification and money laundering offenses.
"Does Eko Darmanto also benefit from the meeting? I say that the person concerned also does not get any benefits or benefits. It is proven that the person concerned is now being punished," he said.
It was also stated that during the meeting, Alexander was accompanied by several other KPK officials. The meeting has then been reported to other leaders. Therefore, his meeting with Eko Darmanto did not involve conflicts of interest.
"What does that mean? Regarding the meeting, there is no conflict of interest between me and the person concerned, do I know the person concerned? I do not know him. Before the person concerned came to the KPK," said Alexander.

Meanwhile, the alleged criminal act committed by Alexander Marwata is a direct or indirect relationship committed by the KPK leadership with a suspect or other party who is related to a corruption case handled by an anti-corruption agency.
Alexander Marwata is said to have met Eko Darmanto in March 2023.
During the meeting, the KPK was investigating Eko Darmanto in a case of alleged gratification and money laundering (TPPU).
