BTS Module Thief In Ministry Of Energy And Mineral Resources Admits Crime Proceeds Are Used For Methamphetamine And Prostitutes

JAKARTA - MJ, one of the perpetrators of the theft of the BTS (Base Tranceiver Station) module, managed to launch its action at the ESDM building, Jalan Pegangsaan Timur No. 1, Menteng District, Central Jakarta using a fake assignment letter and uniform.

"When I was at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, I only used fake letters and the attributes of BTS officers' clothes. When I took action, I was accompanied by security officers from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources," said suspect MJ to reporters at the Menteng Metro Police, Monday, October 14.

MJ said the proceeds of the crime he was able to directly sell to SJ alias Jason were known through social media.

"All the money I get in the action I usually buy methamphetamine and play girls," he said.

In a month, the perpetrators managed to reap tens of millions of rupiah in profits from the theft of the BTS module. He often steals BTS modules because he already has a sales market with lucrative profits.

"Usually a drug and a girl party from the proceeds of crime. That's how my life works every time I make an action," he said.

Previously, it was reported that the Central Jakarta Metro Police and the Menteng Metro Police arrested 5 telecommunications equipment thieves belonging to Telkomsel and Indosat Oredoo International syndicates. The five perpetrators are an international network controlled from China.

The discovery of this international network theft syndicate began with the arrest of a suspect in the BTS module machine thief with the initials MJ (31) in Kenari area, Senen District, Central Jakarta.

MJ launched the theft in three different locations. The first theft was on the ESDM building of Jalan Pegangsaan Timur, Menteng.

Second on Jalan Pejompongan Baru, Tanah Abang. Then the perpetrators of MJ stole at the JKP Site 104 Kemayoran Market, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.

"The perpetrator MJ (31) committed theft at the location wearing a Telkomsel technician's shirt," said Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Susatyo Purnomo Condro to reporters, Monday, October 14.
