Police Investigate The Discovery Of Skull Suspected Of ULM Student

PALANGKA RAYA - Central Kalimantan Regional Police (Polda Kalteng) is still conducting an investigation regarding the discovery of the alleged skull of the Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) student of Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Kalsel), which was reported missing in May 2024.

The Head of Public Relations of the Central Kalimantan Police, Kombes Erlan Munaji, explained that the skull was found wearing red clothes and blue pants.

The police are currently trying to carry out further identification, including conducting an autopsy at Bhayangkara Hospital.

"The family has been summoned to provide information and synchronize information regarding the identity of the victim," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, October 14.

Erlan said, then the bag that allegedly belonged to the victim when it was found at the scene had not yet been opened, so further information regarding the item is still under investigation.

"This case is being seriously handled by the police, and the public is asked not to speculate before the results of the official investigation are announced. Hopefully, the autopsy results from the Bhayangkara Hospital team will run well and the results can be identified as the identity of the skull," said the Head of Public Relations of the Central Kalimantan Police.

Previously reported, the male skull was found by residents in the bushes on Saturday (12/10) at around 07.45 WIB in Sei Ahas Village, Kapuas Regency.

After being found, the police together with residents immediately evacuated for further examination at Bhayangkara Hospital.
