Revealed, Chinese Network BTS Module Thief In Jakarta Wears Telkomsel Uniform During Action

Central Jakarta Metro Police and Menteng Metro Police arrested 5 telecommunications equipment thieves belonging to Telkomsel and Indosat Oredoo International syndicates. The five perpetrators are an international network controlled from China.

The discovery of this international network theft syndicate began with the development of one suspected BTS module thief with the initials MJ (31) in Kenari area, Senen District, Central Jakarta.

MJ launched the theft in three different locations. The first theft was on the ESDM building of Jalan Pegangsaan Timur, Menteng.

Second on Jalan Pejompongan Baru, Tanah Abang. Then the perpetrators of MJ stole at the JKP Site 104 Kemayoran Market, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.

"The perpetrator MJ (31) committed theft at the location wearing a Telkomsel technician's shirt," said Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Susatyo Purnomo Condro to reporters, Monday, October 14.

From the arrest of MJ, the police carried out developments to arrest four other suspects with the initials AL alias B (29), TY (34), RCH (25) and AB (49). They are a network of Chinese syndicates.

"The five perpetrators are BTS module tools thieves. The confiscated evidence is 227 units of BTS module and palettes containing BTS modules that are ready to be sent to China," he said.

Of the hundreds of stolen BTS modules carried out by five suspects, they sold them to a collector with the initials SJ alias Jason (DPO) who is a Chinese citizen.

"The module was sold to the suspect with the initials SJ alias Jason WN Cina, who is a DPO. They brought stolen goods and collected them in the Serpong area, Tangerang," he said.

After the stolen BTS was collected in the Tangerang area, the goods were packaged to be sent to the Chinese state. The perpetrator sold the BTS module for IDR 7 million per unit to the collector.

"The victims who own BTS are PT Telkomsel and Indosat Oredoo. The total loss is 120 billion rupiah," he said.

The perpetrators were charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code and Article 481 of the Criminal Code.

"We will coordinate with the Div Hubinter to arrest DPOs abroad," he said.
