Police Stop Case Of RM Pallu Basa Serigala Makassar, Status Of Husband Suspect Revoked
Makassar Police Investigators stopped investigating the case of a fatal accident resulting in the death of two people and revoked the status of the husband of the restaurant owner (RM) Pallu Basa Serigala Al Qadri Chaeruddin (AQC) aged 36 years as the driver suspect.
"Based on the development of this case, of course based on the 2021 performance regarding the handling of criminal acts that are resolved based on Restorative Justice or RJ justice," said Makassar Police Chief Kombes Mokhamad Ngajib as reported by ANTARA, Monday, October 14.
The police chief reasoned that from the requirements, both material and formal, there are general requirements and special requirements. From the general requirements here, there are formal requirements and formal requirements.
"Among them is a letter of peace agreement between us (the police) he is the perpetrator rather than negligence in traffic accidents with the families of the victims. Where is the family of his own wife and child," he said again.
From this requirement, continued the Chief of Police, then the special requirements in article 10 of the Regulation of the State Police of the Republic of Indonesia number 8 of 2021 concerning Handling Criminal Acts Based on Restorative Justice, were accidents due to negligence that resulted in casualties.
This is a requirement for a family settlement or called restorative justice and the handling of traffic accidents that occurred on September 25, 2024 was declared over and resolved with a restorative justice court.
"We prioritize the benefit of the justice side for the community. After this, we will stop the case," said the former Palembang City Police Chief reasoned.
Kombes Ngajib said, so the process of handling the case made an incident, of course the police had the authority to investigate and investigate. And after the investigation and investigation process is carried out, a suspect is determined.
However, in the course of this case, the parties of the victim and related parties asked for it to be resolved restoratively. So that it is reasonable to suspect that the perpetrator and the families of the victims and the parents of his wife and other related parties proposed RJ.
"They stated that they can be resolved restorative justice. So that today the police have determined that for justice we will stop it," he said.
"Actually, we are doing the ELTE process, we are considering the justice side, so that everyone can accept the incident. For the driver (the truck was hit) himself, we will make him a witness, because this negligence is the AQC," he said.
Previously, Al Qadri Chaeruddin (AQC) 36-year-old husband of the owner of the Pallu Basa Serigala Maassar Restaurant (RM) was named a suspect, on suspicion of negligence causing his wife and child to die in a fatal accident on the Reform Flyover Road on September 25, 2024.

According to the Head of Makassar Traffic Police, Kompol Mamat Rahmat, apart from AQC as the victim's husband who was driving a Toyota Land Cruiser car carrying his wife and children and one other passenger survived, he was still subject to sanctions in accordance with Law number 22 of 2009 concerning Traffic.
