KAI Orders Land And Company Buildings, Saves State Assets Worth IDR 731 Billion

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI has succeeded in controlling the company's land and buildings. This effort is part of KAI's responsibility in managing and optimizing state assets.

KAI Vice President Public Relations Anne Purba said that apart from moving in rail transportation services, KAI also continues to optimize its assets in the form of land and buildings through various forms of commercial cooperation.

Anne said that in 2022 KAI succeeded in controlling 933,058,21 m2 of company land and buildings with an asset value of IDR 1,696,107,018,408. Then in 2023 KAI again succeeded in controlling land and buildings covering an area of 729,680.32m2 worth IDR 2,086,050,525,471.

"From January to September 2024 KAI succeeded in controlling assets covering an area of 475,955,93m2 with a value of Rp. 731,528,021,963," he said in an official statement, Monday, October 14.

Anne said that the performance of controlling KAI's assets was the result of a solid collaboration between KAI and various stakeholders such as the government, BPN, Attorney General's Office, TNI, Police, and other stakeholders. This collaboration is of course very important in ensuring the control process runs smoothly and effectively.

With the steps taken, KAI hopes to continue to improve asset management and make a positive contribution to the state and society.

"Four years since the COVID-19 pandemic began and additional mandates for other assignment projects in the form of leading the completion of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail project, KAI assets grew very significantly by 53 percent, reaching IDR 81.37 trillion by the end of 2023," he said.

On average, continued Anne, KAI's total assets have grown 15.23 percent per year since 2020. "In the future, this growth will continue to be maintained in line with KAI's future operational increases," she explained.

Anne explained that KAI's asset growth was driven by the company's desire to continue to invest, especially increasing the quality of fixed assets in the form of rejuvenating the locomotive, train, carriage facilities to station infrastructure facilities in all operating areas.

In addition, Anne said the company is also always consistent in investing and completing government strategic assignment projects, especially the Jabodebek LRT and the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train.

"Based on the 2023 KAI Annual Report, KAI assets historically in 2020 were recorded at IDR 53.2 trillion, then grew to IDR 62.8 trillion in 2021. The total assets rose again to IDR 71.6 trillion in 2022, and by the end of 2023 KAI assets had reached IDR 81.3 trillion," said Anne.

The increase in assets also immediately increased the company's performance, closing 2023, KAI managed to record an increase in performance achievement by scoring a net profit of IDR 1.87 trillion or 11 percent higher than the previous period in 2022 of IDR 1.68 trillion.

"This positive achievement is in line with KAI's revenue growth which consistently continues to optimize assets and operational excellence to encourage the company's positive performance in a sustainable manner," he said.
