Spanish Vs Denmark Results: Zubimendi Becomes The Host's Rescue
JAKARTA - The Spanish national team narrowly won 1-0 at home to Denmark on the 3rd matchday of League A Group 4 UEFA Nations League 2024/25 at Enrique Roca Stadium on Sunday, October 13 in the morning WIB.
The single goal in this match was scored by midfielder Martin Zubimendi in the second half.
This result makes Spain claim the top position of the standings from Denmark. La Furia Roja has now collected seven points from three matches, one point ahead of Denmark who have to settle for second place in the standings, as reported by the official UEFA website.
Spain appeared dominant from the start of the match. Namum, Denmark created the first chance when Kasper Dolberg was able to get past defender Aymeric Laporte on the right, before stabbing into the edge of the box.
Dolberg then fired a shot into the corner which David Raya could still push over.
Spain did appear dominant, but it is still difficult to dismantle Denmark's defenses.
Spain's best chance of the first half came in the 21st minute when Morata got a pull pass from Alex Grimaldo and tried to shoot from a tight angle, but the ball was still narrowly off the mark.
At the end of the first half, Lamine Yamal took an individual action past the opponent and managed to get into the penalty box.
Just dealing with goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel, the 17-year-old's finish targets the goal.
After the break, Spain still dominated the game, although it was still difficult to score goals.
In the 62nd minute, Alvaro Morata threatened when he escaped the player's control and shot from a tight angle. Poland's Gawang still survived after Schmeichel blocked the ball with his body.
Spain broke the deadlock in the 79th minute thanks to Zubimendi's goal. Schmeichel's imperfect sweeping ball fell in front of Zubimendi.
