Isyana/Rinjani Fall, No Indonesian Representatives In The 2024 Junior World Championships Final

JAKARTA - Indonesia's only hope to be able to win the title at the 2024 Junior World Championships has disappeared.

Women's doubles Isyana Syahira Meida/Rinjani Kwinara Nastine ran aground in the semifinals against representatives of Japan, Ririna Badmintonoto/Aya Tamaki two straight sets, 21-23 and 19-21.

The fight has been very fierce since the beginning of the first set. There were chases that occurred to make the position equal three times, 3-3, 6-6, and 10-10.

Isyana/Rinjani can win the lead during the interval with a score of 11-10. After the break, they got away with four points in a row.

However, their points were stopped after that and made Ririna/Aya equalize 14-14.

Isyana/Rinjani had the lead again and kept a distance of 18-15. It's just that, again they were careless at the critical point so that the opponent equalized again.

The Indonesian doubles won the game point first, but Ririna/Aya forced injury. Next, it was Isyana/Rinjani's turn to force the brace at 21-21 points.

Unfortunately, after that Ririna/Aya got two consecutive points which made them secure the first set.

In the second set, a tight battle also happened again. There were three draws before Ririna/Aya won the 11-8 interval.

The Japanese doubles could actually maintain the advantage, but Isyana/Rinjani managed to catch up and identify the score 16-16.

Again, at these points, both of them replied to each other. Three draws, 17-17, 18-18, and 19-19.

However, Ririna/Aya got match points and were successful in the first attempt to win the set as well as the match.

The defeat automatically made Isyana/Rinjani have to settle for donating a bronze medal for Indonesia at the 2024 Junior World Championships.

No one has reached the final of this event. Previously, Mohammad Zaki Ubaidillah was also stopped in the semifinals and contributed bronze.
