President Jokowi Visits Former School Ahead Of Retirement

SOLO - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) visited his former school in Solo City, Central Java ahead of entering retirement at the end of this month.

Jokowi visited SDN Tirtoyoso Number 111, SMPN 1 Surakarta, and SMAN 6 Surakarta.

The President arrived at SDN Tirtoyoso Number 111 Banjarsari at 08.11 WIB. On his arrival, the President had interacted with the students

Head of SDN Tirtoyoso Lally Maria said President Jokowi had visited the 4th and 5th classrooms.

"Earlier, I was nostalgic. Incidentally, there was also a friend of your father's when he was a child. So in the past, when he was in elementary school, he was in the same class," he said.

He said that it was the first time President Jokowi had visited SDN Tirtoyoso since he first served as president.

"In the past, I was still the mayor here, for RI 1, it's only now," he said.

After visiting elementary school, President Jokowi also had time to distribute food packages to residents around the school, as well as provide assistance to pedicab drivers.

Furthermore, the President continued his journey to SMPN 1 Surakarta. The President arrived at 08.45 WIB. After getting out of Jokowi's car, he immediately entered the school.

The head of SMPN 1 Surakarta City, Wuryanti, said this was Jokowi's first time since serving as president.

"When I was Mayor of Solo, I had several times," he said.

He said that during the visit, the President advised teachers to continue educating students to have noble morals.

"The hope is that the children will have noble character and continue to excel. This was the message," he said.

After going to SMPN 1, the President continued his trip to SMAN 6 Surakarta.
