Reprimanded By The Minister Of Communication And Information, LinkAja Denies Facilitating Online Judi Transactions

JAKARTA A number of leading e-wallets in Indonesia were reprimanded by the Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi for facilitating online gamblers. LinkAja, one of the so-called e-wallets, gave a response.

Yogi Rizkian Bahar, Chief Executive Officer of LinkAja, said that his platform is trying to prevent online gambling practices by implementing several policies. Therefore, Yogi emphasized that LinkAja has never facilitated online gambling transactions.

"We convey that LinkAja has never facilitated any form of suspicious financial activity or transactions, including online gambling," Yogi said in a statement received by VOI on Saturday, October 12.

Yogi added that LinkAja always supports the government's efforts to prevent online gambling practices. In fact, in accordance with Bank Indonesia's directives, LinkAja always applies the principle of prudence and risk management in providing payment systems.

As proof that LinkAja is committed to eradicating online gambling, Yogi revealed that LinkAja has optimized its fraud detection system (FDS) every week to detect accounts that have suspicious financial transactions.

This routine analysis is always reported to the competent authority through PPATK's Suspicious Financial Transaction Report (LTKM). LinkAja also strengthens management by strengthening the existing process of Know Your Customer/Merchant (KYC/M), Customer Due Dilligent (CDD), and Enhance Due Dilligent (EDD) by end-to-end.

Another important thing that LinkAja pays attention to regularly is the integration of security features. This platform has added features for preventing fake application modes, dual authentication, data encryption, and monitoring user activities to prevent cybercrime.

Previously, Budi said that there were five e-wallet providers who still facilitate online gambling with fantastic transactions. The five platforms are DANA, OVO, Gopay, LinkAja, and Shopeepay.

From the data shared by Kominfo, LinkAja became the intermediary platform for online gambling transactions with the fourth largest number of transactions. This platform has a transaction nominal of IDR 65.45.310.125 with a total transaction of 80.171.
