Israel Thwarts Planned ISIS Bomb Attack Targeting Tel Aviv Mall

JAKARTA - Israel's security agency thwarted plans for a bomb attack at Azrieli Mall in Tel Aviv by a group believed to be linked to ISIS.

Israeli Police and Israel's Security Agency (ISA) said five residents of the city of Tayibe, north of Tel Aviv and near the West Bank, had been planning a weeks-long attack.

A month-long covert investigation led to the arrest of the two cell leaders, both of whom have ties to ISIS, police and ISA said in a statement.

Israeli police reported that the suspects planned to travel to the ISIS combat zone abroad, establish ties with foreign agents, and they have recruited three additional Israelis.

In addition, Israeli police said during the investigation, authorities found the suspects had watched the bombing video in Syria and discussed the amount of explosives needed to destroy the Azrieli Tower in Tel Aviv.

The police then arrested the group before their terror plan was realized.

The Bideo, shared by Israeli police about the arrest operation, showed soldiers storming the house and arresting three people. At the end of the video, there is a photo showing a Uzi machine gun in a plastic bag.

There has been no ISIS statement regarding the bomb terror plan in Tel Aviv Israel.
