Arctic Open 2024: Jonathan Christie Beats India's Representative

JAKARTA Indonesian mainstay men's singles badminton player, Jonatan Christie, beat India's representative, Kiran George, to reach the quarter-finals of the 2024 Arctic Open.

Kambuun dari All England 2024 tersebut menang dalam dua gim langsung 21-17 dan 21-8 di Vantaan Energia Areena, Finland, pada Kamis, 10 Oktober 2024, malam 2024.

Jonathan was left behind at the beginning of the first game. However, he then got up and outperformed his opponent by three points at the interval.

"Earlier in the first game, I still felt a little bit, but from the whole thing everything went well and quite okay. Moreover, in the second game everything went very, very well," said Jonatan.

In the second game, Jonathan only missed the first point. He then came back with four points in a row and the opponent was completely helpless.

He even scored 11 consecutive points to lock up the second game while securing victory in the first competitive meeting against George.

Jojo, as Jonatan is familiarly called, appeared in front of a number of Indonesian supporters who decided to attend directly to the location of the BWF Super 500 match.

"It's always fun for me personally when I compete abroad and still get support from Indonesian citizens," said the 27-year-old athlete.

Jonathan is one of two Indonesian men's singles who played in this event. However, he is now the only representative left.

Another representative, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, had already fallen in his first match yesterday against China's singles, Lu Guang Zu.
