KPK Reminds Depok City KPUD To Maximize Regional Head Election Socialization Budget Of IDR 75 Billion

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) reminded the importance of socializing the 2024 Pilkada. The public must know the stages of the contestation so that they can choose the best candidate.

This was conveyed by KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika when asked about the lack of socialization of the 2024 Depok City Pilkada. In fact, the budget spent reached IDR 75 billion.

"Public knowledge as voters is also important for our common concern," Tessa told VOI, Thursday, October 10.

"So if the public does not have information, the election organizers as their function can more intensively carry out socialization," he continued.

Tessa said the local government must also actively monitor the use of the election budget used by the KPUD. This is because the money comes from the APBD with a grant mechanism according to the Circular (SE) of the Ministry of Home Affairs Number 900.1.9.1/435/SJ concerning the Election of Governors, Deputy Governors, Mayors, Deputy Mayors, Regents, and Deputy Regents.

"For this reason, the local government can oversee the distribution of grant funds through APIP according to the laws and regulations," concluded the spokesman with the investigator's background.
