Israeli Attack Hits Syrian Industrial Estate

JAKARTA - An Israeli attack hit an industrial area south of the Syrian city of Homs. There were no reports of casualties.

Syrian news agency SANA reported an attack on Thursday, October 10, hitting Hassia city, about 35 kilometers from Homs and near the border with Lebanon.

Material damage occurred at a factory in the town of Hassia, reported the agency as reported by CNN.

The attack targeted military cities and locations in rural Pests.

Citing military sources, it was reported that an Israeli attack was launched at around 01.00 local time from north of Lebanon and targeted a car factory.

"The loss due to the attack is only limited to material damage," SANA reported.

Israel has carried out numerous attacks on Syria in recent weeks, targeting what it calls Hezbollah figures and infrastructure used to smuggle weapons into Lebanon.

On Tuesday, seven people were killed and 11 injured as a result of an Israeli attack on a residential building in the Syrian capital, Damascus, according to SANA.

CNN geolocated the building and found the building was close to many diplomatic facilities. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) declined to comment.

Last Friday, the Israeli military said it was attacking an underground tunnel that crossed the Lebanese border into Syria used by Hezbollah to transport weapons from Iran and its proxies to Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Hezbollah is part of an alliance led by Iran that includes Yemen, Syria, Gaza and Iraq that have attacked Israel and its allies since Israel's war with Hamas began a year ago.
