Jokowi Uploads Moments To Meet Four Eyes With Prabowo

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) was seen meeting face-to-face with President-elect Prabowo Subianto behind closed doors in the City Forest by Plataran, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, October 8 evening.

The meeting of the two was exhibited by Jokowi through the social media account Instagram @jokowi, on Tuesday night. Jokowi revealed that the meeting was a moment of discussion for 2 hours while having dinner with Prabowo.

"Discussed casually while having dinner with the elected president Pak Prabowo. It didn't feel like it was more than two hours," Jokowi said in the photo.

Presidential Special Staff Coordinator Ari Dwipayana said during the meeting, Jokowi was trying to establish communication with Prabowo.

"President Jokowi always maintains close and intense communication with the elected president at every opportunity, both in formal forums and informal meetings," Ari said in a written message to the media crew, Tuesday.

Ari said that togetherness between the two is needed to ensure a good transition of government. "The togetherness between the two leaders of this nation is very much needed to ensure that the transitional process of government runs well and smoothly. At dinner, various things are discussed, especially regarding the sustainability of future government programs," Ari explained.

Minister of State Secretary Pratikno also previously said the two had dinner together while discussing sustainability. "Yes, that's right (in dinner). Private. (The discussion) is togetherness and sustainability," Pratikno told the media crew in writing, Tuesday.

Meanwhile, based on the uploaded photo, Jokowi seemed to have had an intense conversation with Prabowo. In that room they are seen alone without anyone or anyone else.

Jokowi was seen wearing a white shirt, as was Prabowo. Based on the information gathered, the two meetings ended at around 21.15 WIB. The two were seen leaving the restaurant in their respective vehicles.
