JAKARTA - Toyota and Suzuki are known to have established close partnerships in developing a number of vehicles for the Indian market.

This partnership allows both of them to share the same chassis and components in order to reduce research and development costs. Reportedly, in the future, the two will return to present several models in the future.

Not only sharing bases and technology, both will present a hybrid model in India. What are the hybrid models that will be presented by each manufacturer?

Launching from Gaadiwaadi, Tuesday, October 8, Suzuki will give birth to a Grand Vitara 7-SEAter which will be present in the first half of 2025. This coincides with Toyota which launched its twin, the latest version of Urban Cruiser Hyryder.

Urban Cruiser Hyryder will feature a significant design update with a seven-seater version that offers a spacious and wide cabin space. In addition, both will be equipped by hybrid systems that have more optimal fuel efficiency.

In addition, Suzuki also wants to launch a facelift version of the frontlift which is also embedded in a hybrid system by combining 1.2L Z-series engines. The powertrain previously debuted on the latest generation of Swift.

This hybrid system is also expected to come in the next generation of Baleno which is expected to be released in 2026. Then, one of the latest MPV brands bearing the S logo will also have this technology in the future.

Toyota also intends to strengthen India's mid-hybrid vehicle market by immediately introducing Fortuner and Hilux with this technology. Previously, this car had been launched on the market of other countries.

In a number of markets, Fortuner and Hilux millid-hybrids are equipped with 2.8 liter diesel engines coupled to 48V battery technology, thereby increasing fuel efficiency but without compromising their performance.
