Surabaya Wins First Place In I-SIM For Cities, Integrated With SDGs Annual Conference 2024

JAKARTA - The Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas held the 2024 Annual Conference (SAC) SDGs with the theme "Innovation Towards Golden Indonesia: Related to Quality, Work and Green Industry Education," at the Fairmont Hotel Jakarta, Monday, October 7th.

At the event, the City of Surabaya came out as the city with the highest ranking value in the I-SIM for Cities 2024 event. I-SIM for Cities in this third year was again held in collaboration between PT Surveyor Indonesia and the Association of Indonesian City Governments (APEKSI) under the supervision of the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas and the Ministry of Home Affairs.

This year's event was attended by 76 Cities throughout Indonesia, where Surabaya, Tangerang, and Tebing Tinggi became the first, second, and third winners.

I-SIM for Cities 2024 consistently conducts a holistic assessment of the City Government's initiatives, while the assessment is carried out in a balanced manner and with integrity by the professional Jury and has a focus on their respective sectors, namely Gantjang Amanullah (SDGs National Secretariat), Kunto Bimaji (Minister of Home Affairs), Zuzy Anna (Director of SDGs Center Padjadjaran University), Ferry Salim ( UNICEF Education and Ambassador Activist), Michael Susanto (Tanoto Foundation and SDGs Academy), Indah Budianti (Indonesia Business Council for Sustainable Development), and Andy Simarmata (Indonesia Association of Urban and Regional Planters) and Asnil Bambani Amri (Jurnalis Kontan).

After judging 10 cities with the best initiative on September 19, 2024, the announcement and awarding of I-SIM for Cities winners were given in a series of Annual Conference SDGs activities at the Fairmont Hotel Jakarta on October 7, 2024, where the Solid Work initiative belonging to the Surabaya City Government managed to win the highest assessment, followed by the Tangerang Live Super App by Tangerang City, and the Egg Cangkang Innovation into Calcium Powder by Tebing Tinggi City.

The Labor Intensive Program which is superior and has succeeded in bringing Surabaya to the first rank of SDGs achievement in this event itself is an effort to eradicate poverty and increase employment through intervention and distribution of workforce that prioritizes synergy between sectors in the city of Surabaya.

Head of BAPPEDALITBANG Surabaya City Ir. Irvan Wahyudradjat, MMT appreciated the I-SIM for Cities initiative as a forum for the disclosure of actions and collaboration in responding to city government challenges through a sustainable approach.

"We appreciate this once helping us show what the community has done, how we collaborate in synergy between sectors so that we can advance Surabaya in a sustainable manner, together, mutual cooperation," he said.

President Director of PT Surveyor Indonesia expressed the same thing and appreciated the commitment of cities participating in the I-SIM for Cities 2024 for achieving sustainable development goals.

Be enthusiastic about innovating in various sectors by strengthening multi-party collaboration in accelerating the achievement of TPB/SDGs in Indonesia, as well as becoming the main driving force in accelerating the achievement of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)," said Sandry.
